Our Story

Unbeknownst to each other’s existence, it only took a last-minute decision for both Onari and Janiece to stop by Aqui, the Mexican fusion restaurant in Willow Glen they each drove to for takeout. This small, unplanned stop would mark the beginning—the first time they met.

Their brief and friendly encounter sparked a growing and enduring friendship, a friendship that, after several months, ignited into a genuine love, respect, and a realization that neither one could not live without the other. Consequently, in May of 2025, they made their love official in Atlanta, GA, where Onari presented a ruby promise ring on the Jackson Street Bridge.

Since then, the English Teacher and Real Estate Photographer have shared plenty of really good times, learning each other’s passions, quirks, and characteristics, and enjoying the ways in which their lives have seamlessly intermingled, falling into place as if it was always meant to be.

Whether Onari is teaching Janiece about the intricate mechanics of different cars, the importance of natural light when taking photos before the sun sets, or breaking down scripture during Bible study, Janiece doesn’t take a single moment for granted, as Onari’s knowledge and wisdom continue to influence the woman she’s becoming. In the same breath, Janiece can be her complete self with Onari, while listening to her 1960s jazz loudly in the house, reading Harry Potter on her Kindle, or venting about students using ChatGPT on their essays, Onari embraces every side of her and loves her all the more for it.

Thankfully, in one another, they’ve found a love that feels both like home and a beautiful new adventure.

So when Onari proposed on March 6th, 2026 in Kane’ohe, Hawaii, the only and obvious answer that Janiece could give was YES.

Who talks the most?

Pick one or two fun little questions like "who was the first to say "I love you" or who's cooks the most often or something. Write in the answer down in this box.

Maybe think of a question that you already have a photo for that can go up above the text-- like if you guys have taken a class together and have a photo from that.
